Shane Altbaum

Shane advises clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial, and securities law matters.

In his practice, Shane advises corporate business owners and managers at all stages of their businesses’ life cycle: at start-up; through capital raises and other corporate finance transactions; when entering into business arrangements with partners, suppliers and customers; with ongoing regulatory and legal requirements, and through the acquisition and divestiture of businesses in a variety of jurisdictions. Shane’s clients operate in a diverse array of industries, with a particular focus on private equity and venture capital, technology hardware and software, cannabis, transportation services, real estate development, professional services, and medical and dental professional corporations.

Shane graduated with a degree in business and economics from the University of Toronto, where he combined his studies with varsity athletics. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and earned an MBA from the University of Toronto.  Shane is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Law Society of Alberta. Prior to practicing law, Shane was an early internet entrepreneur before joining one of the largest businesses in Canada as a strategic planning consultant, directly advising its executives and board of directors.

Shane has experience as a director of and active volunteer with many community organizations, including Shaarei Shomayim Congregation, JACS Toronto, United Jewish Appeal, Jewish National Fund, March of the Living.
